CHAOS White 2018

"LOVE ❤️ the little 500ml bottle! Some really interesting tropical fruit on the nose. Yet it’s still crisp and clean! Not to complex! A nice golden color again. Very aromatic! Really quite delicious! Lekker man! "

SAVAGE White 2017

"A very solid white wine! Crisp, clean & deliciously delicate. Light floral notes, gorgeous gold color, medium-long finish. Not a lot wrong with this wine! "

SAVAGE Red 2015

"Drinking very well... great earth, fruit, and complexity with great layered depth and length! "

Duncan Savage, previously the winemaker at Cape Point Vineyards, introduced his own label in 2011 with a goal to produce rock-solid, classic and elegant wines. Through his time at Cape Point, Duncan grew to understand maritime vineyards, which led him to source grapes for Savage wines from maritime and high altitude sites around the Western Cape. These small, hand-selected parcels receive a lot of love and attention throughout the growing season. Each vineyard’s unique terroir contributes in its own special way to the blends. Savage wines are inspired by the great older reds from South Africa and abroad that have stood the test of time and are made with gentle extraction, minimal intervention, and moderate alcohol.

The Chaos White 2018 is made from 68% Sauvignon Blanc and 32% Sémillon. An element of this wine was fermented on the skins for 6 days before pressed to barrel at approximately 10 Balling.

Starts off with sweet pear, apricot and elderflower, and dry hay around the edges. This develops into fennel with a green tea and ginger undertone. The pallet has a pithy edge, yet coated with an oily, multi-layered and textured mouthfeel. Don’t be too rushed in finishing this bottle. Once opened, the flavors will continue to change over time. Drinking temperature: 16ºC.
